We have entered Character work! 8 new characters entered the classroom for the first time today. It is my absolute pleasure to introduce you to Moré.
So we took a train across continental USA....now it's time to make a show from our experiences. Here we are doing 'Compositions' at Terra Hall, University of the Arts. We are creating some exciting stuff!
30th Street Station, Philadelphia. And we are off! Philadelphia to Pittsburgh. A snowy 8 hour train trip across Pennsylvania.Arrived in Chicago at 8am. Walked the streets, visited the Bean, did a fantastic workshop with Theatre Unspeakable, watched an epic show by The Neo-Futurists and went dancing! From Chicago we took a train to Omaha! We LOVED Omaha! We visited Blue Barn Theatre, studied the landscape, interviewed locals, made a piece of site-specific work and ate in a wine cave before boarding a train to San Fran. Two full days on a train from Omaha to San Francisco. We passed through Colorado, Utah and Nevada - arguably the most beautiful states in America! We made it to San Francisco! What a fun city! After 5 days on a train our 5 hour flight home to Philadelphia seemed to be over in a blink of the eye! I will forever cherish this creative adventure. I made many new friends, my perspective shifted and I realized how beautiful America really is.
On Thursday my cohort and I will travel across America for Pig Iron's latest project "Off The Rails" - we will interview fellow travelers, work with theatre companies along the route and observe the ever-changing landscape. Cannot wait!
