Market 3018 is an immersive ‘marketplace’ installation that reflects how Americans interact with their food resources, and the ways in which we waste them. Constructed solely out of food packaging waste, Market 3018 is a Philadelphian marketplace one thousand years in our future. Swamped by plastic cups, straws, and Styrofoam packaging, Market 3018 will serve samples of food created solely from food waste highlighting how we might have to consume food in the future.
Connor Hogan and I conceived the idea for Market 3018 at Pig Iron School For Advanced Theatre Training and initiated a a creative collaboration between Hungry Education today! We are so excited to start this journey of food awareness and waste with the community of Philadelphia and beyond.
